Background in Web Development, Web Programming, Computer Programming, Hardware Troubleshooting, Computer Repair, and Customer Service. Enjoys writing of all types, including reviews, position papers, technical writing, and creative writing. Strong work ethic, exemplary communications skills (one of the highest ACT scores in the nation) and the ability to work with a team or handle projects alone without supervision. In studies for a degree in Middle and Secondary Education, hoping to eventually teach High School English.

Technology

• Extensive familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Core (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access), Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Dev-C++, and many other common programs (including A/V software).
• Competent in writing in C, C++, PHP, HTML and CSS. Also competent in MySQL from the command line in conjunction with PHP. Have launched LAMP-driven websites from scratch.
• Some experience with Unix/Linux, willing to continue learning it if required by my job. Also fairly comfortable with Mac OS.
• Familiar with computer hardware and able to make all simple repairs. Excellent troubleshooting skills and I am not easily deterred by a seemingly unsolvable issue.

Customer Relations

• Answered movie-related questions, helped solve customer’s problems and assisted managers in ejecting unruly patrons.
• As the face of my own business, I had to maintain customer satisfaction with my clients and ensure they were treated as I would want to be treated.
• Working for Office Depot, I earned the respect and trust of my fellow associates and the public, and had no problem with sacrificing a little now to ensure the repeat customer later.

Communication

• Scored a 35 in English and 36 in Reading on the ACT. 33s in both are considered to be the top 1%. A 36 is a perfect score and is only achieved by one in every 4,000 students.
• Wrote articles for high school newspaper with a readership of nearly 3,000.
• Familiarity with various writing styles, and I enjoy writing on a regular basis to my weblog.
• Primarily writing in a journalistic style at the moment, but can provide writing samples on any given topic on request (please allow 48 to 72 hours).

Sales

• Four years experience in sales of varying types.
• My approach with customers is more friendly and personal, I'm very smooth and agreeable, but not afraid to make an effort to close the sale.
• Consistently top in sales and commissions at Office Depot.
